Red-browed Finch Gallery

Neochmia temporalis
Some of these cute little finches have become quite tame and will quickly congregate in numbers on the back lawn if a handful of seed is offered. They move among the grass with little flashes of red as they seek out the seed, although during Spring it's not unusual to see a youngster who has not yet got its red head markings.  Click on images to enlarge.
